Obituary of Gloria Sondereker

-EDINBURG, OH Gloria Sondereker, 77, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 16, 1935 to the late Ritzi and Margaret Franchi, Gloria was a 1953 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. She was a 1956 graduate of the Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing. After raising her children, she went back to school at Kent State and earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing. She retired in 1996 as the Clinical Manager of the Behavioral Health Unit at Robinson Memorial Hospital. Gloria was active with both her high school and nursing alumni groups, was a member of a bridge club, and was an original member of the Community Book Club. She loved flowers, gardening and going on cruises. Most of all, she was a loving wife and mother and she cherished her grandchildren. Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Raymond; her children Denise Sondereker; Carl (Carrie) Sondereker and their children Katelyn, Kyle, Kierra, and Keadron; Julie (Ron) Fisher and their children Riley and Mikalina. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Diane) Franchi. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 1-3 and 5-7 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID and SANTOS CHAPEL 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls. Cremation will follow and a committal of ashes will take place at a later date.
