Obituary of Steve Wyhowanec
Steve Wyhowanec, 93, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
He was born on April 20, 1918 in Cohoes, New York to Paul and Rozalia Wyhowanec. Steve was married to Katherine (Eich) for 59 years. He was a loving husband and father. Steve was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army with the 29th Division. He was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company with 38 years of service. Steve was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and the R.B.O.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Wyhowanec; parents, Paul and Rozalia Wyhowanec; brothers, Pete and Joe Wyhowanec; and sisters, Mary Childress, Olga Christoff and Helen Bennett. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Wyhowanec; brother, Mike Wyhowanec; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff at Altercare of Hartville for their wonderful care and compassion.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church where Steve will lie in state one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron where a Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Donations may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Ave. Mogadore, Ohio 44260.
