Obituary of Jacob T. Kerns
Jacob T. Kerns Sr., 79, passed away on June 14, 2013 at Akron City
Hospital.
Born on November 13, 1934 in Parsons, West Virgina to the late Floyd and
Beulah Kerns, Jacob was a lifetime area resident. He retired as a
master machinist from the B.F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Co. after 43
years of service. Upon retirement, Jacob worked at Barberton Citizens
Hospital. He was an avid golfer, having hit two holes-in-one, and
bowler, bowling a 300 game. Jacob enjoyed ballroom dancing and hunting.
He was a member of the Allenside Athletic Club.
In addition to his parents, Jacob was preceded in death by his son
David. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Nancy; his
children Jacob Teter Jr. (Linda) & Chris (Misti); grandchildren
Kalei, Jason, and Missy (Shawn) Hennigin; great-grandchildren Nicholas,
Logan & Connor, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 16, from 6-8PM at the Anthony Funeral
Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral
service will take place on Monday, at 11AM at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
