Obituary of Mildred Peteya
Mildred L. Peteya, 89, quietly went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2013.
Born in East Cleveland on September 21, 1923 to the late Dushan & Helen Zupunsky, Mildred was a graduate of South High School & was an Akron resident for most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, as well as the St. Paul Ladies Guild, Firestone Park Prime Timers, the Friday Card Club and the Birthday Club.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Vincent E. Peteya in 1996; daughter Elaine Barnes, and siblings Diane & Mary Zupunsky. She is survived by her children Edward (Edna), Christine Deock, Vincent J. (Deb), and Paul (Teri). She was loved and will be missed by her grandchildren Lisa, John David, Michael, Michelle, David, Rachel, MaryAnn, Amanda, Donnie, Corban, Gabrielle, Mike; great-granddaughter Rebecca; nephews Douglas, Dennis, Donald & Daniel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice of Summa, and especially to Louise, Annie, and Michelle for all of the care and compassion given to Mildred.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ralph Thomas on Monday at 11:00AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown Street, Akron, where the family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00AM. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or to the Hospice of Summa Foundation 444 N. Main St. Akron, OH 44310.
