Obituary of Agnes Kocsis
Agnes Kocsis, 87, passed away on May 27, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Rd. surrounded by her family. A feisty lady with a beautiful soul departed on Memorial Day to join her favorite Marine.
Born in Johnstown, PA to the late Andrew and Helen Bellak, Agnes has been an Akron resident for most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church for over 55 yrs, as well as St. Paul Ladies Guild & Firestone Park Seniors.
Agnes was a proud and devoted Catholic who did not know a stranger. She enjoyed her garden, cooking, baking and feeding anyone. Her favorite thing was her Friday outings with Fran, Betty, Margaret and her best friend Carylin Balchak.
In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Edward and 9 siblings. She is survived by her children Barbara (Charles) DuVall, Ed Kocsis, & Jim (Dana) Kocsis; granddaughter Kristi Kocsis & sisters Kay of Johnstown, PA & Josephine of Florida. She also leaves behind many nieces & nephews, friends and great neighbors.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Steven Radwany for his time and compassion and the staff at Summa of Western Reserve and also the incredible care provided to mom by the staff at VNS Hospice Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ralph Thomas on Tuesday June 4, at 11:00 am, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. Akron, OH 44301, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Private services will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
