Obituary of John P. Treitinger

John P. Treitinger, 85, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2012. He was born in Akron and was a member of St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II and was the founder of John's Awning Company which is currently Portage Awning Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Casper and Lucy; great-granddaughter, Mia Bogunovich; a sister; and brothers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Milka; son, Dusan "Dan" (Lillian) Bogunovich; sister, Mary Ann Ascenzi and her children; grandchildren, Kathleen (Michael) Tobias, Daniel (Debbie), Milan (Lori), David (Kelly) and Marko (Melissa) Bogunovich; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah and Rachel Tobias, Daniel, Rebecca, Caroline, Nicholas, Lily and Kirsten Bogunovich; Kumovi; and Friends. Funeral service will be held Monday, 12 p.m. at St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church where John will lie in state one hour prior to service. Fr. George Mileusnich officiating. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron where a Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church, 3106 Ridgewood Rd.
