Hello everyone.I was so saddened to hear of Dave's passing. My son Chris informed on Friday.
I have fond memories of the comedy years. We traveled together a few times.Always enjoyed his humor and gentle manner.I used to tease him about his commercial for Budwieser.25k for"that's not Bob".weactually attended mass together a couple of times near Spear and Corona I think.I miss Ed Yeager and my old friend Leo Nino.My son Chris he recently saw Ed and my old bud,Matt Berry.Once on our way to Grand Junction to a gig ,I wanted to stop in Vail for lunch and he said, too expensive. We can get five sandwiches for a snack at these places".What a great guy.

I knew Dave only from my contact with him at the Brewery Bar II in Denver. I have been a long-time patron. An affable, thoughtful man, with knowledge and valuable insights into an array of subjects. I would give him a book from time to time that I thought he might enjoy. We talked frequently of recent movies we had seen, with detailed observances. We enjoyed each others insights and I valued his opinions, as I knew they were grounded in reality. For residents of his home town, his send off back to Akron was epic, and the love and respect shown for him at the BBII, a Denver landmark, was touching and impressive. We will all miss him terribly.
Ave Atque Vale, old friend, Hail! and Farewell.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family. I am so grateful for the brief time I had reconnecting with David after so many years. We talked, laughed and shared stories as if no time had passed. We acknowledged our deep connection and I remember asking him why he thought we connected so intensely at such a young age. “Because I saw you”. This is probably the most profound thing anyone has ever said to me. You are loved, dear friend and will be missed. Safe travels. “We are stardust”.

As a member of St. Francis de Sales class of 1968 and MHS class of 1972, I am saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. Unfortunately with Dave living in Denver, most of us didn’t get to see him. In May of 2018, a small group of guys were fortunate to meet up with him. As the original coordinator of our St. Francis reunions (1990, 2015 and 2017) we all hoped for him to attend. Our 8th grade reunions were the most fun that many of us have ever had. We all knew him as a smart, funny, and good looking guy. We are all wishing his family our sincere condolences and wanted you to know he will be missed.
Sincerely,
Beth Vaughan Sanfillipo
