Obituary of Grace Babak

Grace Babak, 84, passed away on May 14, in Fairlawn.
Born in Akron on February 20, 1929 to the late Lud & Frances Givler, Grace was a lifetime area resident. She attended the former Sacred Heart Academy in Akron, was a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms High School, and was a member of St Hilary Catholic Church. She was a member of the Friends of the Elms, Fairlawn City Women's Club, Fairlawn Garden Club, Lapidary & Mineral Society, and was a volunteer for both the Village at St. Edward & the County Board of Elections.
In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her siblings Delores Lusby, Gerald Givler, & Mary Ellen Mueller. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Willis; children Johnette (Tom) Luxeder, Cynthia (Paul Witcover) Babak, Vincent (Rebecca) Babak, & Michael (Nancy) Babak; grandchildren John (Kimberly) Luxeder, David (Emily) Luxeder, Grace Samadjopoulos, & Ryan, Clair, Elane, and Katherine Babak; great-grandchildren Matthew, Megan, William, & Sean Luxeder, as well as many nieces, nephews & cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Akron. Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Contributions in Grace's memory may be made to the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service Foundation 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH 44333.
