Obituary of William F. Gay

William F. Gay, 92, passed away Thursday April 25, 2013. William was born October 11, 1920 to Frank E. and Clara (Gillingham) Gay in Youngstown, Ohio and had been an Akron resident for most of his life. He was employed as an engineering writer by Goodyear Aerospace for 32 years retiring in 1985 and had been a radio announcer and English teacher. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the K of C Council 3410. William was proud of being in the Army Air Force where he served as a certified crash boat pilot during WWII. William was preceded in death by his beloved wife Christine in 1992 and Son William in 1986; he is survived by his children Frank (Catherine) of Twinsburg, Mary Ann (Andrew) , Robert (Patricia), Andrew (Chie) McKernon of Japan, Doris Jean, Rosemary Geh and Gregory VonGehl.; grandchildren Robert, Aaron, Leah, Matthew, Christina, Steve and Jeff; great grandchildren Aaron and Evan. A funeral Mass was held at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment took place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
