Obituary of Carol L. Gander

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Carol L. Gander, 77, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013. She was born in Canton, Ohio and was a library technician with the Akron Public School System at Seiberling Elementary School in Akron retiring after 25 years of service. She most recently was the executive director of the Northeastern Ohio Tennis Association for 11 1/2 years. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Helen (Green) Wike; daughter-in-law, Joni Gander; brother, Courtney Wike; and sister, Donna Wike. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ronald A.; son, Brett; daughters, Ronna (Randy) Smith and Sandy (Bob) Heffelman; sister, Lucille (Donald) Stone; grandchildren, Jessica (Derek) Angeloni, Kevin (Christina) Lord, Rob (Emily) Heffelman, Kristin Heffelman, Zac (Lauren Norfolk) Mullenix, Madison and Mikayla Gander; and great-grandchildren, Tristen Mullenix and Harper Lord. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 1 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) in Cuyahoga Falls. Fred Green officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
