Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Triola
Elizabeth Ann Triola, 92, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center.
Elizabeth was born May 4, 1920 to John and Jane (McKie) Chapman in Oak Bank, Scotland. She moved to Australia from ages of 5 to 15, returned to Scotland and came to the United States and Akron in 1947.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Community (formerly St. John the Baptist Catholic Church), the Ladies Guild, the Altar and Rosary Society, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was a member of the Akron Business Women's Association for 30 years and received their award for Woman of the year in 2007. She knitted many hats and booties for Akron Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas in 1991, her daughter and son-in-law Jane and James Kroah and grandson Christopher Richard Triola; and is survived by her children Nicholas (Brenda), John (Debbie), Paul (Robyn), Angela (Ronald) Kennedy, Charleen (Wilbur) Lintz and Christine (Dan) Ternosky; sister Jeanette (James) Sharp; brother and sisters-in-law Sam (Reff) Triola and Mary Triola; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews cousins and dear friends.
Funeral services will begin Wednesday 9:30 am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron and continue with a funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Community, 1044 Brown St. Akron. Fr. William Hritsko officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home TODAY beginning with an Altar and Rosary Society rosary at 3:30 pm and continuing until 8: 00 pm.
