Obituary of Katherine Elizabeth Eggert

Katherine Elizabeth (Cintavy) Eggert passed away Wednesday April 17, 2013 after a long life of love and blessings. She left us with the gifts the ability to care for others, sacrifice, faith in the Lord and her ornery nature. Katherine was born November 24, 1919 to Peter and Elizabeth (Barecic) Cintavy in Barberton and had been an area resident her entire life. She worked tirelessly on programs for those with disabilities. She was instrumental in the development at the Weaver School and Workshop. She was a founder of the Suburban South Social Group for the developmentally disabled that meets at St. Francis Church Katherine was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the Church Choir, the Rosary Society, the Legion of Mary, the Barberton Slovak Choir and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Branch 415. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband William in 1987; sons-in-law Raymond Wagner and Donald Copeland; grandson Tom Pitsch and siblings Peter Cintavy and Matilda Wallman; and survived by her children David (Joanne), Russell, and William R. Eggert Jr., Judith Grillo, Kathy Copeland, Margaret (Thomas) Pitsch and Jeanne Wagner; grandchildren Lorraine (Doug Schneider), Eric Eggert, Theresa (Dan) Butts, Marie (Ed) Miller, Joseph (Sandra) Grillo, Dawn (Sebastian) Kozar, Denise (Kevin) Harrah and Jennifer (Michael) Novakovic; great grandchildren Logan, Jenson, Madeline, Julia, Abby, Lauren, Max, Alexis, Trevor, Luca and Maksim. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:30 am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron and followed by the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron, OH 44319. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home.
