Obituary of Jacquelyn Ann Hudak

Jacquelyn Ann Hudak passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years old. All of her life Jackie could be found helping someone. She grew up in Canton and was the oldest of four girls. She moved to Akron when she married her husband George. They had two children who became the center of her life. Many people in Firestone Park knew her as the lawn lady. She could be found mowing over ten lawns around St. Paul's Church. She was an active member of St. Paul's Parish. She spent many years volunteering in the school in the library. Jackie loved being outside working. Her children were her first priority and she devoted her life to helping them. When her son Kenny married Nicole they blessed her with her first four grandchildren. Emily, Chase, Natalie, and George were her pride and joy. She loved babysitting them and watching them grow into amazing young adults. She supported everything they did and always encouraged them to get a good education. Later she was blessed with five additional grandchildren. Her daughter Mary and her husband Mike had quadruplets, Rachel, Reese, Jackson, Max and four years later Addyson. She spent every day helping take care of them and loving them. Her favorite thing was listening to stories about their days, helping with homework, and watching them in their activities. She often said her grandchildren were her purpose. Jackie became sick with an unexpected, life changing illness. She spent the last three years of her life at St. Edward's Nursing Home. She was a favorite resident and everyone she met loved her. Until the end Jackie was an avid Hoban and Cleveland fan supporting the Cavs, Indians, and Browns. She always wanted to talk about the scores and know what was happening. She never stopped enjoying eating hamburgers and drinking Pepsi. So many wonderful weekends were spent at Kenny's with the family swimming and watching movies together. Jackie is preceded in death by her husband George, parents George and Thelma Stone, sister, Clarice Guleff, and granddaughter Reese Alexander. Her loving family left to carry on her legacy and example of kindness are Ken (Hilary Johnston), Mary (Mike) Alexander, sisters Georgia Lydick, and Sally(Joe) Buffo, many nieces and nephews. Lastly, she is survived by those who are blessed to have had her in their lives for so many years and love her more than anything, her grandchildren, Emily, Chase, Natalie, George, Rachel, Jackson, Max, and Addyson. The family is eternally grateful to the people at St. Edward's who treated her with dignity and respect. Calling hours will be Friday, November 24 from 4-7PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St in Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Saturday at St. Hillary Catholic Church, 2750 W Market St in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Archbishop Hoban High School Scholarship Fund.
