Obituary of Bernice M. Fisher

Bernice Fisher, 89, died quietly Monday morning February 20, 2012 after a long illness. Bernice was preceded in death by brothers, Chris, Fred and Willie Fisher; sisters, Mary Scafidi, Angela Helms and Rose Kapusinski; and parents, Carmen and Thomas Fisher. Bernice has quite a reunion awaiting her in heaven. Bernice is survived by her devoted sister, Elizabeth Schumaker; and many nieces and nephews. Bernice was a quiet and independent woman who loved her Catholic faith and enjoyed giving to the missions. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked for several Catholic priests throughout her life at Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Peter and St. Joseph Catholic Churches. Bernice enjoyed her early years as a bank teller and had many stories to share about her adventures to Italy and to Medjugorje. Bernice was often seen walking the streets of Cuyahoga Falls wearing a stylish hat and comfortable shoes. A special thanks to the staff at Valley Savings Bank who served as her guardian angels. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
