Obituary of Ernestine Marie Kalmar
Ernestine Marie Kalmar, 92, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013.
She was born in Shelby, Ohio, came to Akron in 1927 and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Mrs. Kalmar was the housekeeper at St. Paul Catholic Church from 1960 to 1965 and at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Suffield from 1967 to 1980. She was a member of St. Paul Ladies Guild, V.F.W. Post 3383 Ladies Auxiliary and Firestone Park Seniors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius F. and Mary (Glassner) Armbruster; husband, Joseph in 2002; brothers, Dr. Alphonse V., Donald G., John L., Walter and Jim Armbruster; sisters, Alice Armbruster, Patricia Viering and Madeline George; sister-in-law, Frances Armbruster; and brother-in-law, Gordon Prince. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Joseph D., Sr. and Sandy Kalmar; sister, Jane Prince; sister-in-law, Ruby Armbruster; brothers-in-law, Charles Viering and George George; grandchildren, Lora Beskett, Lisa M. (John) Flood and Joe Kalmar, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Dakota and Kamden Kalmar and Andrew, Katherine and David Flood; and great-great-grandchildren, Aaron, Alyssa and Alivia Kalmar.
Funeral service prayers will begin Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Suffield. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul School Endowment, 433 Mission Dr. Akron, Ohio 44301 or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 47 E. State St. Akron, Ohio 44308.
