Obituary of Wayne George Jones

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Wayne G. Jones, 77, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Wayne was born September 16, 1935 to George and Genevieve (Simmons) Jones in Akron and had been an area resident his entire life. He was graduate of Central High and was a boxer in Golden Gloves. He served in the US Navy and the US Coast Guard. He was employed by Ford Motor at the Walton Hills Stamping Plant for over 37 years, retiring in 1997. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and especially his passion, trap shooting. He was a member of Trinity Church of God in the Falls and the Moose Lodges in Barberton and Mogadore. Wayne was preceded in death by his son David J. and brother James and is survived by his children Jean Ann (Antonio) Murdocco of Mogadore, Donald W. Jones of Akron and Thomas R. (Vicky) Jones of Uniontown; his friend Jody Brookes; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 Pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
