Obituary of David M Zak

David M. Zak, 65, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at his home. David was born May 7, 1947 to Edward J. and Elizabeth (Lees) Zak in Barberton and had been an area resident his entire life. He was employed as an engineer by Babcock and Wilcox for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was a faithful member of St. Augustine Parish. He was a musician and had a band, Dave Zak and Harmony. The band did a reunion concert for Dave's dad on his eightieth birthday. David is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Diane (Ruegg) Zak; children Adam Zak, Patricia (Rob) Dye and David Zak; grandchildren Laniece Russo and Eddie, David and Hannah Dye; Destiny & Lizzie Zak; great granddaughter Cayden Ramoz; siblings Edward (Sue), Margaret (Thomas) Finan and Kathleen Zak; many nieces and nephews of the Zak and Ruegg families. David will also be missed by his loving stepmother, Clara Zak. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 8 Pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 10:00 am, at the funeral home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 Am at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1580 Brown St. Akron. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
