Obituary of Mildred Pesich

-CUYAHOGA FALLS Mildred Pesich, 91, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on March 31, 2017. Born in Akron on August 16, 1925, Mildred had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident since 1950. Mildred worked as the office manager for John Massoud, DDS and retired as business manager after 25 years for Lawrence Kay, DDS. She is the past-president of both the Akron Dental Assistants and the State of Ohio Dental Assistants. She was a member of both St. Archangel Michael and St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Churches, as well as Srbska Zenska Zadruga and was the past-treasurer of the Federation of Serbian Sisters. Mildred was an avid member of the Falls Cancer Club, serving as past-secretary. Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband Milo and her brother Milan Vidich. She is survived by her children Joanne (George) Sam, Donald, & Thomas (Melanie); grandchildren Christopher (Terrie) & Joseph (Adrienne) Sam, and Helisa, Ben (Molly), & Nicholas Pesich; great-grandchildren Cody, Maia, Sammy, Brady, Marley, Aidan, & Cooper, as well as many nieces & nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to caregivers Valerie, Laura, Krystal, & Debbie for their excellent care. Without them we could not have kept mom at home these last three years. Thank you also to Crossroads Hospice for making mom comfortable during her last hours. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 4-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a Parastas will take place at 7pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 12pm at St. Demetrius Orthodox Church, 3106 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, OH 44321, where Mildred will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Demetrius Church or to the Falls Cancer Club, PO BOX 3244 Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
