Obituary of Betty Jane Clement

Betty Jane Clement, 86, passed away on February 23, at the Village at St. Edward in Fairlawn. Born in Cincinnati, OH on March 25, 1926 to the late Henry & Ida Buchter, Betty had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident since 1957. She retired from the M. O'Neil Co. in 1983, where she had worked as a comparison shopper for the president of the company. She was the founder of the Cuyahoga Falls Widow to Widower's Group, and was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls VFW Ladies' Auxiliary, Cuyahoga Falls Moose Club, and the Eagles Aerie #2207. Betty was an avid traveler, having visited all of the contiguous 48 states from 1947 to 1957, as well as traveling around the world with her special friend, Bill Arndt. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband George and her dear friend Bill Arndt. She is survived by her 'adopted daughters' Monica (Donald) Allebach & Roberta (George) Nehrenz, as well as close friends Bob, Katrina, Liz, & Stephanie. A special thanks to Claudia, Rosemary, Sabrina, Sandy, and the entire staff at the Village at St. Edward for the wonderful care given to Betty. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 1:00 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls, where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Dr. John Schluep officiating. Entombment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty's memory may be made to the Warriors' Journey Home Ministry c/o the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge 85 Heritage Drive Tallmadge, OH 44278.
