Obituary of Louis Anthony Agosta

NORTON - Louis Anthony Agosta, 89, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013. Louis was born September 27, 1923 in Akron, Ohio to Sicilian immigrants, the late Salvatore and Nancy (Lana) Agosta. He was the oldest son in a family of four and a graduate of Central High 1942. He lived most of his life in Norton. He was a veteran of the US during World War II, a life-long member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Firestone Post 3383 and Disabled American Veterans Summit County Chapter 35. He was a sharpshooter in in WWII, taught camouflage to recruits and helped build bridges under fire. Louis retired from General Tire. He was a licensed Real Estate Agent since 1955, a member of Akron Board of Realtors since 1993 and retired from Seal Realty in 2003 with 48 years of service. He was a Third Degree member of The Knights of Columbus Council 3410 and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Bob Finley, son-in-laws Bill Kaufman and Brian Freeman and sister-in-law Joyce Agosta. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Catherine (Zacavish) Agosta of Norton; brothers Joe (Marjorie) Agosta, Tony (Sandy) Agosta, Sister Jenny (Jim) Finley; sons Salvatore (Kathy) Agosta, John (Sue) Agosta; daughters Nancy (Dan) Artino, and Patricia Agosta. He had 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several close friends. The family will receive friends Thursday 5 to 8 Pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 Am at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1580 BROWN ST. AKRON. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
