Obituary of Martha Adreene Gaskill

Martha Adreene Gaskill, 103, died November 26, 2016. Born in Athens, Ohio on September 13, 1913 to Ervie & Hattie Swift, she was a graduate of Athens School System and attended Ohio University. She was member of Athens Church of Christ for 65 years and Church in the Falls more recently. Martha was devoted to her four children and wished she had a nickel for every hamburger she fried to keep them going to their respective sports activities. She loved sports—especially the Indians, the Steelers & Ohio State. Preceded in death by her husband Dwight B.; sons Byron & James; daughter Alice B. Jinkinson; sister Mary Clark; and brothers Dana & Dale. She is survived by estranged son Dwight R. Gaskill; grandchildren Kimberly K. Jenkins, Debra (Brent) Perleberg, Christine (Michael) Burritt, & Steve Gaskill; daughter-in-law Norma Starts; great-grandchildren Kimberly A. Jenkins, Howard L. Jenkins and nine others; and niece Faith Richard. Thanks to Dr. Vernon Hershberger for his years of care and kindness. Also thanks to the staff at the Gardens of the Western Reserve. Funeral Services will be TOMORROW, Wednesday, November 30 at 2:00PM at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave. (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends beginning at 1:30.
