Obituary of Scott Santos
Scott Santos fought long and hard in his battle against cancer. On Saturday, November 19th at 1:24am he joined his father Frank Santos and son Rick Santos, along with many others in Heaven. I would say that is WINNING. We can only imagine the joy that he is experiencing now in his new body. Thank you, Jesus!
He beat a lot of us there. He left behind his loving wife Carolyn Santos, mother Sandy Santos, son Daniel Santos, brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Pam Santos, sister and brother-in-law Sheri and Mark Fleishour, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. We all can't wait to meet him again on the other side.
Scott's humor and wit were two of the things that made us all love him so deeply. But few, precious few, really knew the more tender and caring side of Scott Santos. He made people feel comfortable. He had such a way about him that let people know he was real – genuine. People knew that they were safe with him.
He was a faithful son and mischievous sibling. He was a wonderful husband, and finally found the love he was looking for in Carolyn. He was an amazing grandfather and father to many whether they were technically his children or not. Scott loved making people laugh. He made us laugh up until the day he was no longer able to talk.
Scott always gravitated to industries that served others. He finally honed in on the passion of his life in information technology. In this field, his greatest joy was his band of senior citizens and handicapped individuals who regularly paid him for his computer work in crocheted items and food. He saw this as his ministry, and one of his many services to mankind around him.
The sadness we are experiencing is a reflection of the amazing man he was and is. Our deep sense of loss speaks to the amazing role that he filled for our family. We thank you all for your support and love. Scott would want us to know that though his journey on this earth has ended, his new one has begun. And he wants us to carry on so that we will be able to say, along with him, "I have fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith".
2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV)
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous capital judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing."
So lets long for the Lord's appearing and carry on.
