Obituary of Mary Teresa Hurray

Mary Teresa Hurray died on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Summa Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. She was the daughter of James and Mary McCue and lived in Leetonia, Ohio for the first 32 years of her life. She has been a resident of Akron for over 56 years. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Philip Hurray and her brother Larry McCue. She leaves beloved children Phil, Tempe, AZ; Mary (Richard) Churchill, Odessa, FL; Michael (Mick) (Anne); Paul (Kim); and Tom of Akron. Mom always liked to keep up with current events and was very intelligent. She was a great listener and even took Spanish classes at a later age. Before getting married and moving to Akron, she worked as a personal secretary in Youngstown, then for the Catholic Exponent newspaper as an editor. Mom loved her children and took great care of them. The family thanks the doctors and nurses throughout the years for their extraordinary care, and to Dave for being a great friend to her. The family will receive friends Monday from 9 to 10:45 Am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 Am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Private burial will be at Glenview Cemetery in Salem, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Church Building Fund or Mobile Meals.
