John Yanok
John Yanok, 69, joined his wife Kathy in Heaven on September 27, after
an extended illness.
Born in Akron on April 6, 1947 to the late John & Catherine Yanok, John
was a graduate of Garfield High School. He had been employed by
Firestone-Bridgestone in the Maintenance Department. He was a former
member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a current parishioner of Sts.
Phillip & James in Canal Fulton. John served his country as a member of
the US Air Force during Vietnam.
John is survived by his sons Johnny (Shawn Rehac) & Andy (Melanie)
Yanok; siblings Tom(Bonnie), James(Debra), Edward(Jean), Ray(Marcia)
Yanok & Mary (Jack) Dies, as well as many nieces & nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of
Rose Lane Health Care Center and Mercy Hospice, for the compassionate
care given to John.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, 5-8 pm, at the Anthony
Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 11 am, at Sts.
Phillip & James Catholic Church in Canal Fulton. A private interment
will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in
Rittman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the
Stark County Parkinsons Support & Caregivers group c/o the Ohio
