Michael Dzurovcin, Jr., 94, passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2016.
Born in Czechoslovakia on August, 20, 1922, Mike came to the US in 1938. He joined the US Army in 1941 and was an Engineer during WWII, building bridges in the European Theatre. After the War, he moved to Akron and married his wife Anna on September 7, 1946. Mike worked for The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company for over 36 years, retiring in 1982. Mike learned to fix televisions as a second job and was known as 'Mike the TV Man'. Mike was a faithful parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Akron for over 70 years, where he was a member of the choir, the Holy Name Society, a Eucharistic Minister, and was a bingo volunteer. Mike enjoyed working outside, but the most important thing to him was his family. Mike was very proud of his children and at the dinner table, 'there was always room for one more.'
