Obituary of Ellen Torok
GREEN - Ellen Torok, 91, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Akron General Medical Center after a brief illness.
Ellen was born August 5, 1925 to Gust and Gizella (Boski) Nicholson in Akron and grew up in Firestone Park. She married her late husband John (the first mayor of the City of Green) in 1944 and they began a life as farmers in Green. She was involved in Green Schools as president of Kleckner PTA, loved to arrange flowers with Johanna's and Siefert's Florist and on her own, was a member of the Green Volunteer Fire Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed her time as the first First Lady of the City of Green. She was a member and supporter of the Green YMCA
She was a charter member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, attending Mass at the Cleckner Auditorium and Pflueger's barn and was a life member of the Ladies Guild. She was proud of her Hungarian Heritage as a member of the Hungarian-American Club. She was active with IBH and was a founding member of the Tyler Garden Club.
Ellen is survived by her children John (Cathy) Torok and Cecelia (Christopher) Torok and her grandsons John M. and James S. Torok.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 4 to 7 PM at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Steese and Massillon Roads in Green, entrance off of Steese Rd.). Funeral services will begin Thursday 10:15 AM at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown OH 44685.
