Mary Prinzo, 95, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2016. Her loving daughters, Jean and Cheryl, were with her. She is together again with her husband, Willie, and sons, Norman and Bill.
Born on March 21,1921, Mary was a lifelong resident of Akron and Copley. Mary enthusiastically enjoyed her family, friends, and many interests. Her warm, caring, and jovial spirit warmed the hearts of everyone she met. She was very proud of her unique and special elephant collection. She loved family parties, crafts, playing Bingo, making her wedding soup, excursions to the casino, bowling, golf, and teaching her new friends at Copley Place to play SkipBo. Mary worked for many years as a beautician, specifically working with people with disabilities. She was a founding member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and contributed as an officer in the Emblem Club.
Mary is survived by her daughters Jean Prinzo Blosser & Cheryl Prinzo Pelland (Tom); brother Naz Iampeitro (Pat); daughters-in-law Shirley Prinzo and Claudia Prinzo; grandchildren Renick Blosser (Megan), Trevor Blosser (Jen), Joseph Pelland (Leeann), Patrick Pelland, Norman Prinzo, Brian Prinzo (Julie Smith), Michelle Prinzo and Bill Prinzo; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren
The family wishes to thank the staffs at Copley Place Independent Living, Darby Glenn Long Term Care Center, and Tridia Hospice for their support and loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, The American Cancer Society Relay for Life, The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
Calling hours will be held from 3-6PM on Sunday, August 14 at the Anthony Funeral Home, McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) in Cuyahoga Falls. Funeral services will take place Monday at 10AM at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:30AM. Interment will immediately follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
