Obituary of Ruth Elaine Volchko

Ruth Elaine Volchko, 87 passed away Monday, August 8, 2016. She was born in Akron and was a lifetime member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Mrs. Volchko had a passion for raising her family and raised them in Firestone Park where she also was a resident for her entire life. She was an avid bowler and a Cleveland Indians fan. She enjoyed playing cards, good food, and beer. Her house was always open to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Lillian Benson; husband, Paul in 1984 to whom she married on November 24, 1948; sisters, Pauline McCoy and Marjorie Ligon; and grandson, Brian Volchko. She is survived by her children, Douglas (Christy), Ruth (Tony) Casalinuovo, Andrew (Debra), Margaret (Dennis) Albright, Gregory (Gina), Jerome (Rosanne) and Paul (Trisha) Volchko; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral service prayers will begin Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment at St. Michael Cemetery in Mogadore. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home where a Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Church Building Fund, 433 Mission Dr. Akron, Ohio 44301.
