Obituary of Frank Mangano
Frank Mangano, 94, passed away July 30,2016.
He was born on February 17, 1922 to the late Josephine and Carl Mangano. A lifelong resident of Akron, Frank served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a gifted artist who enjoyed drawing cartoons for his many nieces and nephews. Frank had a passion for photography and created beautiful lasting memories for his family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Scofido and Grace Trimer, and brother, Joe Mangano. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Samuelian, nieces; Rose Kline (Gene), Josephine Jubara (Jib), Nanci Paonessa (Ralph), Suzanne Samuelian, nephew; Chris Samuelian, many great-nieces and nephews, and life-long friends; John and Betty Mastrojohn.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Nursing Home for taking such good care of Frank and making his time there joyful.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM Wednesday, August 3 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior, beginning at 9:30AM. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery will immediately follow. Donations in Frank's honor may be made to the Akron Area Arts Alliance, 140 E. Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44308.
