Obituary of Mary Esmond-Taylor
Mary Esmond-Taylor, 95 fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.
She was born in Akron and worked at B.F. Goodrich during World War II.
She retired as a supervisor from Ohio Bell. Mary was a member of the
Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church where she served on the Church
Parish Council. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Fellowship of St. Simeon, Union and
League and was a Church Trustee for many years. She was also an integral part
of the church's weekly fish fry's. A Special Thank You to her longtime
caregiver, Mary Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vasilie and Sophia Vasei;
husband, Daniel C. Esmond; second husband, Al Taylor; sisters, Flora
Grossmayer, Helen Sokol and Elsie Treharne; and brother, Theodore Vasei.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Don and Cheryl Esmond;
grandsons, Mike (Tiffany), Dan (Nikki) and Chris (Kim) Esmond;
great-grandchildren, Allison, Ashley, Jacob, Haylee, Cameron, Rachael
and Adrianna Esmond; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Tim Edwards;
granddaughter, Melanie Edwards; grandsons, Rodney (Michelle), Matt
(Jennifer) and Mike (Kasey) Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Rooke,
Rodney, Jr., Abby, Molly, Kylie, Colin and Cameron Edwards. She is also
survived by sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Arthur Zimmerli; and
many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Presentation of
Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333 where
Mary will lie in state one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Dr. Ian G.
Pac-Urar officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family
will receive friends Friday, 5 to 7 p.m. AT THE CHURCH where a Saracusta
service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
