Obituary of Jaroslava "Mom" Strileckyj
Jaroslava "Mom" Strileckyj, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016.
She was born in the Ukraine and was a member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. She was a former part-owner of a coffee shop in Chicago and had worked for the Akron Women’s City Club. She loved life, polka dancing, gardening and any outdoor activity. She was a poll worker for the Summit County Board of Elections. She adored her family. She made up a radio station for her grandchildren called WZZZ to monitor their progress. Special thanks to her good neighbors and her Ukrainian Friend, Walter.
She was preceded in death by parents, Dmytro and Maria (Komarnyckyj) Dulyn; husband, Wolodymyr; and brother, Gregory Dulyn. She is survived by son, Wolodymyr; daughters and son-in-law, Lydia Strileckyj and Chrystyna and Richard (“Awesome”) Zellers; grandchildren, Dr. Paul (Jo Ann) and Andrew (Laura) Zellers and Zachary (Kate Foster) and Adam Strileckyj; great-grandchildren, Addison, Clark and James Zellers; and cousins, Dr. Orest (Oksana) Komarnyckyj and children and Nadia (Robert) McConnell and children.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1866 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Interment at St. Andrew Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Parma, Ohio. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
