Obituary of Maxine Thompson

Maxine Thompson nee Looney, 79, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 18, 2016. Born August 12, 1936 in Tariff WV, to the late Harvey & Esther Looney, Maxine came to Akron as a teenager. She worked as the head teller for National City Bank for over 40yrs. Maxine was a longtime, dedicated member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where she participated in many, various ministries. A kind, quiet and reserved woman, Maxine was a dedicated mother & grandmother and she will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50yrs, William; and she was the last of her eight siblings to be called home. She is survived by her only daughter Pamela Lanham; grandchildren Nicholas (Erin) & Katie; great-grandchildren Matthew, Olivia, Sophie, Bryson & Nicholas; and many nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 25 from 10:00AM-12:00PM, at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will be held at 12NOON, Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park will immediately follow.
