Obituary of Virginia M. Mitchen

Virginia M. Mitchen, 93, died Sunday, May 22, 2016. Virginia was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1922 and resided in the Akron area for the past 70 years. She was a member of the Firestone Park Prime Timers, Portage Lakes Fitness Center and Jednota Club 533. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph E. Mitchen; and 13 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Christopher) Bogard; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Friday, 12 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Fr. Michael B. Smith officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
