Obituary of Milka Treitinger
Milka Treitinger, 96, fell asleep in the Lord Friday, May 6, 2016.
She was born in Drvar Bosna, Yugoslavia and came to the United States and Akron in 1949. She was co-owner and operator of South Akron Awning Company from 1949 to 1973 and John’s Awning Company since 1973. Milka was a member of St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church, Kolo Sestura and SNF Lodge 42 where she was also former secretary.
She was preceded in death by parents, Damjan and Stefania (Sobot) Basich; first husband, Vojvoda Brane Bogunovich; second husband, John Treitinger; great-granddaughter, Mia Bogunovich; and first cousin, Bosko Sobot. She is survived by son, Dusan (Lillian) Bogunovich; grandchildren, Kathleen (Michael) Tobias, Daniel (Debbie), Milan (Lori), David (Kelly) and Marko Bogunovich; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah and Rachel Tobias, Daniel, Rebecca, Caroline, Nicholas, Lily, Kirstan, Garet, Giana and Gylian Bogunovich; cousins, the Sobot family of Hamilton, Ontario; and kumovi, the Kecman and Gvozdenovic families.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 12 p.m. at St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church, 3106 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, Ohio 44333 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Fr.
