Obituary of Anne Margaret Dougherty
Anne Margaret Dougherty, 36, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 26, 2013 at her home.
Anne was born March 27, 1976 to David and Donna (Kirkland) Dougherty in Canton, Ohio and had been an Akron area resident her entire life. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Anne is survived by her parents, David and Donna; siblings, Michael (Adrienne) Dougherty, Christine (Dan) Walker, Theresa Misenhelter, Suzanne (Timothy) Hughes, Mary (Matt Kertesz) Steiner, Ruth (Michael) Kyle and Angela (John) Garrett; nieces and nephews to whom she was their second mom, Lauren, Jennifer, Renee, Tessa, Bethany, Katlyn, Lindsey, Alyza, Alyson, Brittany, Timothy, Gabrielle, Joseph, Caleb, Alexandra, Ethan, and Hailey; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Anne was a dedicated and caring nurse who loved her patients and worked many years in a long term physicaric facility. Anne travelled to El Salvador in 2000 to serve the poor through a medical mission. She was able to speak enough Spanish to communicate with the local children who were served by her love. Her family will greatly miss her gentle and loving spirit.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 11 a.m.at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
