Obituary of Madelyn Mary Sutter

Madelyn 'Midgie' Sutter (Knepp, nee Latham) Midgie, 86, born April 23, 1930, passed away on April 27, 2016 after a brief illness. Born in Akron, Midgie was a graduate of St. Mary High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenmore. She worked for over 25 years in the Labor & Delivery Unit at St. Thomas Hospital, where she lovingly cared for newborn babies. She also worked for many years in the box offices of the East and Midway Drive-in Theatres. Midgie was a member of the VFW Post 3383 Ladies Auxiliary, volunteering for many projects. She also volunteered at the International Institute, presenting American Flags to new US Citizens. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was truly blessed with a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Preceded in death by her husbands Richard Knepp and Larry Sutter; sister Peggy Plant and daughter Mary Helen Friend, she is survived by her loving family, sons Michael Knepp of Aurora, John (Joan) Knepp of Richfield, Jimmy Knepp of Texas, and Mark (Pam) Knepp of Cleveland, GA; daughters Margaret (Don) Clatterbuck of Elkton, MD, Beth (Larry) Rivers of DeLand, FL, Mickey (Neal) Brasure of Ida, MI, and Kathy (Jon) Duhon of Akron; grandchildren Michael, Natalie, Ian, Kenny, Thomas (Misty), Adam (Sarah), Matthew, Alex, Jason (Courtney), Jennifer, Jeremy, Elisabeth, Molly, Lauren, Heather (Jared), Steven, Erica (Dedric), Dillon, and David; sister Joan (Carl) Dangle of Akron and her life long dear friend Winnie Leonhard. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 2-5 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Michael B. Smith on Monday, 10:00 am, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at the corner of Battles Ave. & 16th St. in Kenmore. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron.
