Obituary of Barbara Ann Amacher

Barbara Ann Amacher, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, April 18th, 2016 at the Ledges at Rockynol. Daughter of Vernon and Orthilda Arnold, Barbara was born and raised in Akron Ohio where she would later meet the love of her life, James "Jimmy" Amacher and would go on to marry, and even celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary together, this past January. A woman of faith, Barbara attended Firestone Park Christian Church regularly and also enjoyed sewing and baking. Known for being musically gifted, she blessed all with her love of music and singing. Faith and family were her priorities in life. Along with Jim, she will be missed by her children Karen (Steven) Myers and Brian (Mary) Amacher; siblings Mark Arnold and Marlys (Vern) Hershberger; grandchildren Christie Ketler, Bethany Denison, Todd (Jackie) Fincher, Andrew Myers and Blake Amacher; great-grandchildren Haleigh, Kayla, Tyson, Bryce, Declan and Owen, as well as many countless family members and friends that she has touched over the years. She was preceded in death by her step-mother Marjorie and her brother Robert Arnold. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 AM, with services to follow at 11 AM, both at Fairlawn West UCC, 2095 W. Market St in Akron. A private interment will take place immediately following the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Firestone Park Christian Church, 40 E.
