Obituary of John Thomas Trathen

John 'Jack' Trathen, 85, passed away on March 19, 2016.
Born in Akron on July 8, 1930 to the late James and Beatrice Trathen, Jack was a lifetime Cuyahoga Falls resident. He served his country as a radio operator for the US Air Force during the Korean War. Jack was a proud grandfather and was very close to his grandchildren, as well as his nieces and nephews. Jack knew everybody and was a friend to all. In his later years, Jack remained very active, attending car shows and RC plane shows. He went out for coffee everyday and loved meeting his friends at Arby's. Jack lived in the same neighborhood for 40 plus years, where the family developed lifelong friendships with the neighbors, many of which still live there today.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife Cathi. He is survived by his sons Doug (Lenore) & John (Tracy); grandchildren Kyle, Justin, and Sydney, as well as many nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will take place Sunday, April 3, at 3:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel 247 Stow Ave (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
