Obituary of James Lee Conley
James Lee (Chico) Conley, 34, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 another victim of a heroin/fentanyl overdose.
James was born April 22, 1981 to James Conley and Lauren West in Akron and had been an Akron resident his entire life.
He is survived by his wife Amy Conley (Smoot): son James Richard Conley; his sister Nina Ledbetter; niece Rosaline; nephew Jaxxon in addition to a host of extended family and friends.
He graduated from Akron East High School and Monterey Peninsula College.
His addiction did not define him. A loving husband and father, he will be remembered for his unique sense of style and humor. He had a hat for every occasion and loved heavy metal. He was a kind and gentle soul.
The family is grateful to their friends and supporters in AA and HA for all the assistance over the course of James' battle with addiction.
Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 AM at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St., Akron OH 44301. The family will receive friends Thursday 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for the care of James Richard c/o the funeral home.
