Obituary of Mary Perch
Mary Perch
Mary 'Baba' Perch, 84, passed away on March 4, 2015 after a short illness.
Mary was born in Celo Bukovo, Macedonia, Yugoslavia and immigrated to the US with her husband Chris in her '20s and settled in Akron. Eventually she was joined by her entire family. Mary was a wonderful cook and was famous for her Zelnik and breakfast, prepared for her grand kids and their friends. Mary could grow anything and was famous for her peppers started from her hot bed each spring. Thanksgiving was always at Baba's house, where if anyone didn't have a place to go they were welcome. She was one that never met a stranger and always saw the good in everyone. Her biggest enjoyment was attending anything related to her grandchildren. The list of people whose lives she touched as either a Baba, friend, or neighbor is endless. Equally important to her were her church friends at St. Thomas Eastern Orthodox Church.
Mary is survived by her sons Steve (Sandy) & Van (Karen) Perch; grandchildren Angela (Domenic) Fragomeni, Mara, Elizabeth, Casey, Laura, and Jacob Perch, and grand dog Rudy; sisters-in-law Sofi, Donna, & Bona Kimevski. She will also be greatly missed by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as her 'adopted family', the Shahs. She was preceded in death by her husband Chris and her three brothers Bogdan, Mile, and Tome Kimevski.
The family will receive friends on Monday, 4-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a Panachida will take place at 7 pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, 11 am at the funeral home, where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. (Anthony Funeral Homes, AKRON, 330.724.1281, anthonyfh.com)
