Obituary of Raymond Donald Schneider
GREEN—Raymond 'Don' Schneider, 87, passed away peacefully at home February 23, 2016.
Born on January 5, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI, 1 of 14 children to Emil and Christina Schneider, Don grew up on the family farm in Door County, working in the family businesses of grocery, meats & music. He moved his family to Akron in 1959.
A loving family man who valued spending time with his family & friends, Don enjoyed camping, traveling and golfing. Don was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan. He was an avid musician, especially playing the drums. He retired from managing local meat markets; after retirement, he & Doris traveled out west and spent winters in Pharr, TX, enjoying the sunshine and camaraderie as Winter Texans. A life well lived.
Survived by wife of 62 years, Doris Schneider; daughters Debbie Young (Bill), Doreen Tatum (Gary), Denise Howell (Barry), & Daphne Diss (Derek); grandchildren Shannon, Andrew (Anna), Aaron (Jen), Elizabeth, Alexis, Ashley, Dustin, Alicia, Anthony and Amanda; great-grandchildren Zakeri, Ryan, Maxwell, Joseph, John & Mary; sister Corine Vieth and brother Rodney Schneider; and many loving nieces & nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 29, 11:00 AM at the Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Road, in Akron, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior.
