Obituary of Anthony Kontozianes
Anthony Kontozianes, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016.
He was born in Akron and was a member of Visitation of Mary Catholic
Church. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 35 years of service and
was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean
Conflict. Anthony was a devoted husband and father. He never knew a
stranger. He was an avid sports fan and historian of Cleveland sports
teams, Ohio State and area high schools. He was proud of his Greek
heritage and loved area concerts, dancing and traveling. He lived life
to the fullest. A special thanks to the Pebble Creek Nursing Home staff
for the help and kindness shown to Susie and Tony. Thank you Tony for
being a joyful part of our family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Irene; sister, Mary;
brother, John; and sister-in-law, Janine Oreskovich. He leaves behind
his wife, Susan Kontozianes; son, John and his mother, Delores Favalon;
mother-in-law, Helen Oreskovich; sisters-in-law, Dianne Kidd (Wes),
Helen Hengle, Kathy Myers (Dan), Judy Maione (Don), Paula Fry (Mark),
Mary Ann Williams (Ed), Franny Swailes (Buddy) and Lisa Almenar;
brother-in-law, Frank Oreskovich (Coleen); and many nieces, nephews and
friends.
A Memorial service will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral
Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301
where the family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. In lieu of
