Obituary of Scot Alan Vaughan

-GREEN Born on January 9, 1967 to proud parents Eddie and Karen (Huff) Vaughan. Scot unexpectedly passed on Wednesday, February 17, at his mothers home. Scot lived almost the entirety of his life in Green. His sons Nathan(18) & Dylan(14) Vaughan have as well spent their entire life in the community of Green. In fact, all of Scot's parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents did as well. For 29 years Scot proudly was an integral part of W.L. Tucker Supply in Cuyahoga Falls, where he started in the yard, shoveling gravel into dump trucks and actually drove a dump truck for awhile. Somewhere during that time the owners saw his value and integrity and brought him inside. He worked his way up the ladder to become the Vice-President and a stockholder of the privately held company. Scot also leaves behind many employees that he had the privilege to work with daily. Highly respected and regarded in his industry, Scot had the privilege to preside or sit on many boards: The Subcontractors Society of Northeast Ohio, President; National Association of the Remodeling Industry, also serving as president; A lifetime member of the Mason Contractors Association of Northeast Ohio. He was also the past-treasurer of the Green Historical Society. Scot was always available for his community and that of his boys. He was a frequent volunteer for Scout Troop 335, of which Nathan was a member, going on many camping and canoeing trips, and once did a 180 mile bike ride with the troop. The troop members adored him, especially when Mr. Vaughan took them four wheeling. Scot's son Dylan is the football guy and Scot volunteered endlessly for Green Youth Football, taping all of the games, and donating supplies from Tucker to build the press box. He will be missed by the community he loves. Scot was an active member of the republican party and he would appreciate your VOTE FOR JOHN KASICH. Preceded in death by his wonderful grandma & grandpa, Loretta & Ward Huff and Mildred & Eddie Vaughan, Scot is survived by his loving sons Nathan Alan and Dylan Edward Vaughan; his devoted mother Karen (Huff) Jones of N. Canton and father and step-mother Eddie and Peg Vaughan of Ft. Myers, FL; brother Tod M. Vaughan of Peninsula; sister Michelle Miller of N. Canton and sister and brother-in-law Jackie (Huff) & Jerry Elliot. He is also survived by the mother of his two beautiful sons Tina Vaughan of Green, and a host of nieces and nephews that dearly loved Scot. He is also survived by his loving fiance Michelle (Gaug) Miller of Medina and her three beautiful children, whom loved Scot dearly, Darren, Meagan, and Natalie Miller. A Celebration of Scot's Life will take place on Tuesday, 7pm, at the Anthony & Son Funeral Home of Green 4178 Massillon Rd. (at Rt. 241 & Steese Rd., entrance off of Steese), where the family will receive friends from 4 pm until the time of the service. (Anthony Funeral Homes, GREEN, 330.724.1281, anthonyfh.com)
