Linda and I and David extend our sincere condolences to Miriam and the rest of the family. Lou was always so positive and upbeat about everything, with the possible exception of politics, about which I am proud to say we agreed. When they became our neighbors, about 12-years ago, I think they only had a couple grandkids. It has been a real joy watching that family increase to 15 ½ grandchildren, and hearing the sounds of little ones enjoying the first class playground Lou lovingly created in their backyard with the help of Miriam and the sons and spouses. Lou was an exemplary, responsible Citizen - the best neighbor a person could ever hope for. He will be profoundly missed.

You are all in my prayers. My dad (Chuck Case) served in the Falls with him in the 70s and I know he would have loved to have seen him rise in the ranks while continuing to live the Catholic faith. May this 'good and faithful servant' rest in peace!

Dear Dirker family. I was saddened to hear about Mr. Dirker. I have thought about when I babysat all those kids and how wonderful Mr. Dirker was. He really loved his family. Praying for you all.

My thought and prayers go out to Miriam and the whole Dirker family.
I first met Lou when my dad Tom Wise introduced me to him I was 13 at the time.. I would then see Lou all the time a gym working out. We always would talk and he would ask how my dad was doing. Even after my dad had passed he would always tell me how sorry he was my dad passed away at such a young age (61).
RIP Lou I am sure my dad will be happy to see an old friend again.
God Bless,
Thomas Wise Jr.

My condolences to the Dirker family at this time of your loss.
I knew Lou from his involvement with karate. Hitting Lou was like hitting a brick wall. No matter how many times you hit him, he just stood there. It got to be frustrating at times but he loved every minute of it. His fighting spirit will be missed.

I send my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to all of the Dirker family. I worked in the office across the hall from Lou's office in the P.D., starting just a few years after Lou, so we knew each other a long time. I didn't, however, know Lou had been ill for so long and was shocked to find out he had passed away. I ask God to watch over each member of Lou's family, and give each one of them all the strength, comfort, peace, and understanding they need in getting through this difficult time in their lives. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
