Obituary of Carole Lee Darrow
Carole L. (Fath) Darrow, 82, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on January 27, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Carole was born in Akron to Conrad and Hildred Fath on July 25, 1933. She went to South High School, where she was crowned Basketball Queen and graduated in 1951. She worked in the Baldwin Wallace University Registrar's office while her husband Dan attended college. As a devout Catholic, she has been an active member of St. Francis de Sales parish for more than 50 years. She was a tireless volunteer at St. Francis de Sales School, between shuttling her children and many others to activities and sports. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, entertaining and making ceramics; however, she enjoyed most spending time with family and friends.
Carole leaves behind many friends at Ocean Resorts in Fort Pierce, Florida, where she and Dan spent their winters.
Carole is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dan F.; their five children: Dan, Jr. (Margie), Leann Stasik, Carolyn (Russ) Grote, Larry and Patrick (Denise); grandchildren Kristin, Ashley, Lisa, Danielle, Christopher, Ryan, Patrick, Kevin, Lauren, Drew, Conner & Olivia; great-granddaughter Anna. She is preceded by death by her parents.
The family is grateful to Akron General Hosiptal's ICU staff and to the Hospice Care Center staff for their kind care and compassion during Carole's last days.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 1 from 4-7 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road, in Akron, with Fr. David Bline officiating. Private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Parish School, 4009 Manchester Rd, Akron, OH 44319.
