Obituary of Theodore Guzy

GREEN - Theodore (Ted) Guzy, 88, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Ted was born in Akron in 1923. He retired from the US Military, having served in both the Navy and Air Force. He was active duty during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was committed to serving his country and his family. Ted was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Mogadore where he volunteered alongside his many dear friends and family members. He touched many lives with his sense of humor and genuine concern for others. He always put his family first as evidenced by his dedication to his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. Ted was preceded in death by his father Steve (Rose) Guzy; his mother Ann Danielak; sisters Martha, Dolores and Roselee. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Patricia; children Mark (Jacqueline), Christine (Leonard), Wendy (Denny) and Becky (Bruce); grandchildren Kimberly, Seth, Jared and Elise; great grandchildren Camille and Drew; and his brother Emil (Olga). Interment services with full Military Honors will be held Thursday 9:30am at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
