Obituary of Lucas A. Jones
Lucas Jones, 65, passed away on January 7, at Akron City Hospital.
Luke was born in Akron on May 31, 1946. He was a lifetime area resident and had retired from Time Warner Cable after 31 years. He was the past-president of the I.B.E.W. Local # 2303. Luke was an avid boater, a Harley-Davidson enthusiast, and a devoted NASCAR fan.
Luke was preceded in death by his parents Lucas Jones Sr. & Sandy Alexander, step-father Okey Alexander, sister Sandra Kay, sister-in-law Nancy Corcoran, and his faithful dog, Zack. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Debbie of Akron; son Terry (Gina) Bell of Stow; grandchildren Tyler & Jaret Bell; siblings Karen (Jeff) Parks, Bruce (Shelley) Alexander, Laura (John) Zimmerman, Jeff (Lindsey) Jones, Michael (Karon) McArthur, Bill (Vivian) Alexander, Jerry (Carol) Alexander; father & mother-in-law Art & Ruth Thompson, brothers-in-law Art (Ginger) & Terry (Jan) Thompson, & sister-in-law Carol Wymer, as well as many nieces, nephews, & great friends.
A memorial service will take place on Friday at 6:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends from 4-6 pm. Pastor Dick Hasler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron 7996 Darrow Road Twinsburg, OH 44087.
