Obituary of Genevieve Czarnecki
Genevieve Czarnecki, 98, passed away Monday, January 07, 2013 at St. Thomas Hospital after a brief illness.
Genevieve was born December 21, 1914 to Anthony and Monica (Jatkowski) Pawlak in Akron and had been an Akron resident her entire life. She was employed by McCormick insurance for many years.
Genevieve was a member of the former St. Hedwig Catholic Church and currently a member of St. Hilary Parish. She was a member of the Pilsudski Club and the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America (Alliance of Poles).
Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Teddy J. in 1962 and siblings Stella Hajaway, Lottie Abraham and Henry Pawlak; and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John and Rita Czarnecki; granddaughter Annemarie Loria; great granddaughters Mia and Molly Loria; sister Cecilia Capotosto; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 11:00 AM at St. Hilary Catholic Church where further receiving will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services.
