Obituary of Jack Lee Carney

Jack Carney died in his sleep comfortably on December 30, 2012. Jack was 83 and was born in Sandusky, Ohio on July 08, 1929, serving honorably in the Navy during the Korean War Conflict 1949-1953. Jack made Akron his home after attending Kent State Univ. Jack was actively involved his Church at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church having served as president. Jack loved to sell and did it well selling law publishing. His wife, Nancy Molohosky Carney of Akron, brother Tom Carney and June Carney Nath of Sandusky preceded him in death. Jack is survived by his son, Alex Carney, of Brecksville and his daughter Betsy Carney of San Francisco, daughter-in law Linda Carney and grandsons Colton and Jacob Carney. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 pm at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church 755 South Cleveland Ave. in Mogadore, where a Parastas will take place at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the church, where Jack will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery.
