Obituary of Anne Groza

Anne Groza, age 91, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, December 24, 2011. She was born in Akron and was a lifelong resident of Summit County. She was a member of the Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, Fellowship of Saints Simeon and Anna and the Summit County Republican Women's Association. She was the founder of the Women's Business Association and was a Board of Elections Booth Worker. Mrs. Groza was Past National President of A.R.F.O.R.A. (the Romanian-American Orthodox Ladies Association) and Past President of Sigma Alpha Chi Sorority, Akron P.T.A. and the Greater Akron Legal Secretaries Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore David, Sr.; father and mother, John and Elizaveta Mangu; and brother, John. She is survived by sons, Theodore David, Jr. (Patricia), Michael Jon (Margaret) and Timothy Mark. In addition, she leaves several grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer), Jason (Shayla), Jon, Laura and Mark. One great-grandson, Lyndon; several nieces, nephews, God-children, family and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church where Anne will lie in state one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Dr. Ian G. Pac-Urar officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends TONIGHT, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. in Fairlawn where a Saracusta service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd.
